Full text version of the poem:

MEDALS

Champagne-sprinkled air
Light of flowers
Hail solidified in gold –

This is what they’ll give to you
for being who you are.

Champagne-sprinkled air
Light of flowers
Hail solidified in gold –

This is what they’ll give to you
for being who you’re not.

Invincibility –

only

to the luck-teethed winner
with a bright mouth full of suns:

the one
who’s never counted
a single point or shot.
